- You will start with a mini sensory exploration to calm down and ground yourself.
- This is followed by a short guided ceremony rooted in chanoyu tradition, where you’ll observe and sip matcha in stillness and learn about the cultural significance of tea as a ritual.
During this hands-on activity, you’ll be guided step-by-step in how to prepare your own bowl of matcha. You will learn to use high-quality uji tea, a traditional bamboo whisk (chasen), and thoughtful technique to create the perfect bowl. After your whisking practise, you’ll be served a chilled or warm matcha creation featuring a seasonal fruit purée – a fresh, modern twist on this traditional drink.You will also get to experience the comforting, roasted depth of hojicha (roasted green tea) through a warming latte-style preparation. Each delightful drink is thoughtfully served with a small, seasonal wagashi (traditional Japanese sweet), selected to complement the flavours of the tea.This soothing workshop offers a restorative experience, leaving you with a deeper appreciation for the art of Japanese tea.
